Wrestling statistics and analytics platform

FloStats is a web application I developed to make wrestling match data easier to search, analyze, and compare.

Overview

Existing tournament systems made it difficult to find a wrestler’s complete history without navigating individual event pages and brackets.

I built FloStats to provide a more direct way to search for athletes, review their match records, compare results, and understand competitive histories.

Functionality

Athlete search

Search for wrestlers and open profiles containing match histories, results, and related information.

Statistics and filtering

Review seasonal statistics, individual match records, and filtered results across events and date ranges.

Athlete comparisons

Compare wrestlers using head-to-head records and common opponents.

Seeding tools

Calculate seeding points using applicable Massachusetts high-school wrestling criteria.

Development

I began by examining how the source tournament platform requested and organized wrestling records, including athlete identifiers, event data, and match results.

I used that understanding to build a separate interface for searching, processing, and presenting the information in a more accessible format.

The application evolved as coaches and athletes suggested additional features, including wrestler comparisons and a seeding-points calculator.

Real-world use

FloStats has been used by high-school wrestlers and coaches to review match information and prepare for upcoming competitions.
